| To get started, download the GM Editor and install it. You will need WinZip, or someother unzip package to dearchive the program. Once installed, I suggest downloading and extracting the Gm Editor 1.5 version as it adds some features. |
Shown to the left is GM Editor. Once you have started, search for your team in the various conferences and divisions and double click. Or highlight the team, select "Manager" from the menu and "View Team". CTRL-V will also open the Team Info screen. |
As you see to the left, you have your team's info. You will need to set the roster and the lines for your team. First click on the "Team Roster" button. |
Shown to the left is the team roster. To set your team roster you need to place 20 players on your team. At minimum you need 3 centremen, 3 left-wingers, 3 right-wingers and 6 defensemen. You must always carry 2 goaltenders. The remaining players can be at any position (other than goaltender). Players can be moved between the minors and pros to set the team. The scratches list is the list of players that are injured, suspended or just in the pros but not playing. You may keep extra players there or on the farm team. There is a maximum of 25 players in the pros, however. |
Shown to the left is an example of how you can display only the left-wingers. By depressing the various buttons you can show more, or less, of each position. Sometimes it helps to remove the clutter. |
Once you have your roster complete, as shown to the left, click the exit button to bring you back to the "Team Info" page. |
From the "Team Info" page, select "Team Lines". |
As shown to the left, each of the lines are listed for the team: Even strength (Even), Power Play (PP) and Penalty Killing (PK). Add the players you wish to play on each line, the starting goaltender and the two extra skaters. |
Notice as you select each of the buttons it shows the line set. This shows the Power Play lines. |
The Penalty Killing lines. |
Click on the "Save Lines" button to save the lines. You will be asked for a password as shown to the left. The Classic League DOES NOT use passwords. Leave it blank and click "ok". You will then be asked where to save the files. Please use the default team name so that the lines can be easily inserted into FHL. You can save the files anywhere. Once saved, email them to: classic_hockey@yahoo.ca |
